    How does you “Pro” blades compare with the McCoy blade design ?

    Our Pro designs are very similar to the original designs published by Professor Eamon McCoy. You can see a comparison trial of the McCoy against the Macintosh blades in the reference attached

    Greater flexibility and improved control
     
    • Incorporates a movable tip controlled by a lever on the handle of the Pro blade.
    • Depressing the lever exposes the larynx and glottic opening and simplifies the elevation of the epiglottis.
    • Unique anti-seize spring design ensures safety in use.
    • Force applied during intubation is greatly reduced.
    • Indicated in cases of c-spine precautions, morbid obesity and other causes of anterior glottic exposure.

    A comparison between the Macintosh and the McCoy laryngoscope blades

    "The view of the larynx using the Macintosh laryngoscope and the McCoy levering laryngoscope was assessed in 177 adult patients. The view with the McCoy blade in the neutral position and in the position (neutral or elevated) that gave the ‘best’ view were recorded..."

     

    • Reduces difficult by atleast one grade, making difficult cases easier to intubate.

     

    • Continuous oxygen flow at 10 litre per minute extends the window of intubation ;cleans away secretions & prevents fogging.
